Ben Tabaie St. Compound, Old Katamon, Jerusalem

On the edge of Old Katamon, this compound will replace 60 apartments and 12 shops in three mid-rise buildings with approximately 260 new apartments in three 22-story towers.

The crescent-shaped site borders two streets connected by a network of pedestrian domain, a promenade flanked by two public squares with arcaded storefronts and entrances to the building lobbies. One tower includes a two-story public facility adjoining the main transportation route.

The design responds to Jerusalem’s stone-and-glass façade requirements, using a double-skin façade system that provides flexible planning, varied balcony positions, and floor-to-ceiling glazing. The towers’ massing and urban interface define a contemporary residential landmark in the Katamon district.
