Our Office

Moshe Margalith Architects & Urban Planners Ltd., 1979, with a team of 12 experienced and young architects, headed by Prof. Moshe Margalith architect and urban planner, delivers professional services to government and municipal agencies, foundations and institutions, and large corporations in Israel and abroad.

Our work ranges from urban planning, urban design and landscape to architecture, interior and furniture design, and includes developments in urban fabrics with unique historical and physical contexts in Jerusalem, Acre, Tel Aviv – Jaffa, Eilat and in Paphos Cyprus.

In urban planning urban design and landscape among our significant works are the development of the seam between East and West Jerusalem – the new north entrance into the city, the design of historical compounds such as the Anglican St. George Cathedral and the Dominican Church of St. Etienne in Jerusalem, and institutions, hospitals, hotels and conference centers near the basin of the Old City of Jerusalem and Neapolis – a new quarter in Paphos, Cyprus.

In architecture among our significant works are, public buildings such as civic centers, schools, colleges, libraries, synagogues and community centers, hospitals and homes for senior citizens, commercial buildings such as hotels, shopping centers, office buildings, office and industrial parks, and a wide range of residential developments.

Our Vision

We are devoted to study each project along its unique program characteristics and maintain a continuous dialogue with the client and user. We aim to integrate our skills in planning, landscape, architecture and interiors and furniture design, to benefit the environment, users and client. We believe that this planning approach allows us to achieve innovative and sound designs, and are fortunate, that our varied works enables us to maintain our desire to work, serve and create.

Team

Prof. Moshe Margalith has been combining the practice of architecture and academia since the establishment of Moshe Margalith Architects & Urban Planners LTD., in 1979. Prof. Moshe Margalith heads the Tel Aviv Institute for Study and Research of Architecture: Environment, Culture and Community, and the UNESCO Chair on Modern Heritage; and formerly Headed the Azrieli School of Architecture at Tel Aviv University.

Prof. Margalith has participated in and organized various public seminars and joint study workshops for students from Tel Aviv University and from universities in India, China and Canada on Modernism and Urban Transformations and the built heritage of Tel Aviv. He has also conducted wide academic research i.e, on Jaffa -Tel Aviv, on Nicosia, and on the Jewish Ghetto of Shanghai, on pedestrians’ domains in urban centers and on land policies, and environmental protection.

Prof. Margalith has served in various professional and public key positions i.e., the advisor to the Ministerial Committee for Regional and Urban Planning, the representative of the Architects’ Association to the District Committee of Jerusalem, a member of the Ministry of the Interior steering committee for Urban Rejuvenation and densification, a member of the Ministry of Education Council for Higher Education International Evaluation Committee of schools of architecture in Israel, and a member of the academic founding committee of Neapolis University in Paphos Cyprus.
