Old City View Hotel, Jerusalem

The Old City View Hotel, a pilgrimage hotel for the Latin Patriarchate, is located on a 4,000 m2 site, facing the Old City Wall, along the road leading from Gethsemane (Gat Shmanim) to Mt. of Olives and Mt. Scopus. The hotel includes 150 guestrooms, suites and public areas of nearly 10,155 m2 and 9,700 m2 of underground meeting and seminar rooms, parking and service area. Enjoying the view of the Old City, the hotel’s rooms are spread along a 4-5 floors wing, joined to an interior courtyard surrounded by the hotel’s public spaces. The design uses local architectural characteristics, high density, small masses and typical building elements i.e. courtyards, external staircases and the balance between solid masonry walls, glazed sun rooms and incorporate the local Oriental Mashrabia (sunscreens).
