Red Crescent Medical Center, Jerusalem

The proposed medical complex for the Red Crescent Society Hospital is located on the lower slopes of the Mount of Olives, adjacent to the existing facility of the Red Crescent Society Hospital and the Islamic Mukkased Hospital, and enjoys a view onto the Old City.

The site is composed of a land parcel of 3288 m2 with the existing building of the former Palace Hotel and a vacant parcel of 1057 m2. The proposal creates an integrated medical complex for the population of East Jerusalem and its vicinity. The existing building will be transformed into a rehabilitation center/hotel with an added support wing and a maternity hospital will be built adjacent to it. All will be joined by public facilities to face a courtyard. On the vacant lot a new outpatient clinic will offer a variety of medical services. Medical functions and service areas on the underground floor and a bridge on the upper floor connect all buildings. The built area of the complex is 16,000 m2, with 6,000 m2 of parking and service areas.
